An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our dynamic team in North Yorkshire, on a full time permanent basis.

Joining our team at Pulse means taking on the crucial responsibility of providing expert clinical care in Stroke Medicine, encompassing the diagnosis, treatment, and management of stroke patients. You’ll lead and contribute to the development and implementation of stroke care pathways and protocols, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care at every stage of their journey. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll work to provide holistic and comprehensive care, addressing the diverse needs of stroke patients. In addition to your clinical duties, you’ll play a pivotal role in teaching and training activities for junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, sharing your expertise and nurturing the next generation of healthcare providers. Engaging in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives, you’ll strive to enhance stroke care outcomes, driving innovation and excellence in our approach to stroke management. Requirements:

  • Current GMC full registration and license to practice.
  • MRCP qualification.
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register for Care of the Elderly Medicine, General Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Neurology, or within twelve months of CCT date or expected CESR approval.
  • Minimum of twelve months of UK experience at consultant level in the Specialty.
  • Availability for on-call duties at a ratio of 1:7 for Stroke.
  • Ability to fulfill 10 + 1.5 PAs.
