Registered General Nursing (RGN) Jobs FAQs
RGN stands for registered general nurse which is a title used to describe a qualified nurse who is registered with the nursing a midwifery council. An RGN’s role is to provide care to patients in a number of settings, such as, hospitals, care homes and communities.
The average starting salary for an RGN is approximately £27,000. An experienced RGN can expect to earn around £41,000. However, a RGN nurse’s salary can vary depending on several factors, including, location, experience and the type of organisation you work for.
To become a registered general nurse in the UK, you firstly need to complete a nursing degree or diploma programme. You can then register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. After registering, you can then gain some work experience before applying for an RGN job.
