Pulse is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Training Registrar (StR) Lower in Psychiatry with a focus on Old Age for a reputable healthcare facility in Worcestershire. Job Overview:

As an StR Lower Psychiatrist specializing in Old Age, you will play a crucial role in the provision of high-quality mental health care for elderly individuals. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic healthcare team, contributing to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders specific to the elderly population.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough clinical assessments and provide accurate diagnoses for elderly patients with psychiatric disorders.

  2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of elderly individuals, incorporating a range of therapeutic interventions.

  3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

  4. Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest developments in psychiatry, particularly in the field of Old Age Psychiatry, and actively engage in continuous professional development.

  5. Quality Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of clinical services by participating in quality assurance initiatives and adhering to relevant clinical governance standards.

  6. Training and Supervision: Provide support and supervision to junior medical staff and contribute to the training and education of medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Completion of core psychiatry training
  • Registration on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry or eligibility for entry
  • Experience and interest in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
