Position: StR Lower in Old Age Psychiatry

Job Description: Are you a passionate and driven Junior Doctor with a keen interest in Old Age Psychiatry? Pulse Mental Health is currently seeking StR Lower candidates to join our network of healthcare professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment, working alongside experienced clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and management of older adults with mental health disorders.
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular patient reviews, monitoring progress, and adjusting treatment interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including consultants, nurses, therapists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attendance at relevant training sessions, conferences, and seminars.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ postgraduate experience in Psychiatry, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry preferred.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment modalities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care and upholding ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
