Position: StR Lower in Old Age Psychiatry

Location: Nottingham 

Job Description: Pulse Mental Health is currently seeking compassionate and driven StR Lower candidates to join our network of healthcare professionals in the field of Old Age Psychiatry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise and contribute to the well-being of older adults experiencing mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate tailored treatment plans for older adults with mental health disorders, considering their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions and therapies to support patients in managing their symptoms, improving their quality of life, and promoting independence.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical meetings to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and facilitate effective care planning.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including training sessions, workshops, and educational opportunities, to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies, to ensure continuity of care and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience in Psychiatry, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment modalities relevant to older adult populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage with patients and their families.
  • Commitment to providing person-centered care and upholding ethical standards and professional integrity.
