Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic STR (Specialty Training Registrar) Lower in Adult Psychiatry to join our inpatient services team. As an STR Lower, you will play a vital role in providing psychiatric care to adult patients within inpatient settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career development and gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychiatric assessments and formulating treatment plans for adult patients admitted to inpatient units.
  • Providing psychiatric interventions, including medication management and psychotherapy, under the supervision of senior psychiatrists.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Engaging with patients and their families to provide information, support, and education regarding their mental health condition and treatment options.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
  • Completion of foundation training and at least 1-2 years of experience in psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated interest in adult psychiatry and a commitment to pursuing a career in the field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
