Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Specialty Training Registrar (StR) Lower in Adult Psychiatry to join our esteemed team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to further their career in psychiatry and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care and support to adults with mental health disorders under the supervision and guidance of senior psychiatrists.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in the management and coordination of care for patients, including medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Attend clinical meetings, case conferences, and educational sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in teaching and supervision of medical students, junior doctors, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and service development activities within the department.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration.
  • Completion of the Foundation Programme (or equivalent) and at least 12 months of experience in psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to pursuing a career in adult psychiatry.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and professional development, with a willingness to engage in continuous education and training.
  • Ability to adapt to the demands of a busy clinical environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
