Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Surgical, Orthopaedic Ward

Permanent, Full time

Grade: Band 5

Salary: £34,876 – £40,434 BAR £41,544 – £44,981 per annum

Location: Guernsey

Pulse is working with the Channel Islands largest provider of health care. Our client is looking for a positive and motivated staff nurse to join their Orthopaedic Unit, which manages orthopaedic trauma patients and elective joint replacements.

The hospital consists of two wards. The first ward manages orthopaedic trauma patients and compromise of a 15-18 bedded trauma ward and a 9 bedded elective unit. The second ward manages elective joint replacement. The post holder will rotate between both wards to allow for ongoing training and development.

Requirements

  • NMC registered nurse
  • Experience coordinating ward activities
  • Mentor course at level 2 or equivalent is desirable
  • Evidence to meet KSF agreed criteria is desirable

Roles and responsibilities

  • Evaluate, develop, implement and assess patient care programs
  • Provide care in adherence with ward’s existing philosophy
  • Take responsibility of the ward and regularly oversee nursing staff
  • Assist in learning and development of unregistered nurses and junior staff
  • Act as a clinical supervisor and preceptor develop skills of first and second level nurse and nursing auxiliaries
