Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Older Adult Mental Health
Permanent, Full time
Grade: Band 5
Salary: £34,876 – £40,434 BAR £41,544 – £44,981 per annum
Location: Guernsey
Pulse is delighted to work in partnership with one of the largest hospitals in Guernsey to recruit a committed and driven adult nurse who has a passion working with older people.
The successful candidate will work in one of the dementia care units, where excellent standards of person-centred care are essential. The post holder will oversee management of the Ward and oversee making sure the best practices are upheld to a high standard of care.

Skills and experience:
- Registered General Nurse/ Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Good understanding of English language both verbal and written
- Caring, empathetic and concise communication skills
- Good standard of fitness is required to assist service users with activities of daily living
- Previous experience working with older people is desirable
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients
- Ability to initiate emergency interventions as needed
- Communicating effectively with relatives and friends of service users
- Act in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct
- Continued professional development and training
- Assist in learning and development of unqualified and junior staff
- Coordinate complex discharge arrangements
