Position Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in providing expert mental health care to older adults. This position involves comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of seniors. Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough psychiatric assessments and formulating individualized treatment plans for older adults with mental health concerns.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and person-centered care for seniors.
- Leading and participating in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions, including medication management.
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of individuals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
- Contributing to risk assessments and developing management strategies to enhance the safety and well-being of older adults.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Previous experience as a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions in older adults.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in Old Age Psychiatry.
