Position Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in providing expert mental health care to older adults. This position involves comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of seniors. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting thorough psychiatric assessments and formulating individualized treatment plans for older adults with mental health concerns.
  2. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and person-centered care for seniors.
  3. Leading and participating in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions, including medication management.
  4. Monitoring and evaluating the progress of individuals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
  5. Contributing to risk assessments and developing management strategies to enhance the safety and well-being of older adults.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Previous experience as a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry or equivalent.
  3. Demonstrated competence in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions in older adults.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in Old Age Psychiatry.
