Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to join our esteemed team. The Specialty Doctor will play a vital role in providing expert psychiatric care to older adults, contributing to the enhancement of mental health services, and promoting well-being for our aging population.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations of older adult patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and clinical expertise.
  • Provide specialized psychiatric care, including medication management, psychotherapy, and cognitive assessments, to address the unique needs of older adults.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geriatricians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure holistic support for patients.
  • Lead and participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and optimize outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and innovations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of psychiatric care for older adults.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience and expertise in providing psychiatric care to older adults, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Strong clinical skills in conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field of Old Age Psychiatry.
