Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry with outpatient experience to join our esteemed team. The Specialty Doctor will play a vital role in delivering specialized psychiatric care to older adults in outpatient settings, contributing to the enhancement of mental health services and promoting holistic well-being for our aging population.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations of older adult patients in outpatient settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and preferences of older adults with mental health conditions.
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions to optimize patient outcomes and promote recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and community support services, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for older adults.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to address changing needs and goals.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to review cases, share insights, and enhance clinical practice.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated experience working in outpatient settings and providing psychiatric care to older adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage caseloads effectively and prioritize competing demands.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice in Old Age Psychiatry.
