Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Barnet. In this role, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to older adults, contributing to their mental wellness and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment to older adult patients with a range of mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the individual needs of patients.
  • Monitor and review patients’ progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior medical staff and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress notes.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • MRCPsych qualification or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Substantial experience working as a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
