Are you a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist with a passion for forensic psychiatry? Pulse Mental Health, a leading recruitment agency specializing in mental health services, is seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert psychiatric assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to individuals within forensic mental health settings. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs, including those within secure hospitals, prisons, and community forensic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans for patients within forensic mental health services.
  • Provide expert psychiatric treatment and management for patients with a range of mental health disorders and forensic histories, including personality disorders, psychosis, and substance misuse.
  • Participate in risk assessments, risk management, and care planning to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and the public.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists, to deliver integrated and holistic care to patients.
  • Engage in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives, to enhance service provision and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of core training in psychiatry and relevant experience in forensic psychiatry.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent professional body.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-working abilities.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care in forensic mental health settings.
