Role Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry to join our reputable team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated psychiatrist to provide expert clinical care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services for adult patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment interventions for adult patients presenting with a wide range of mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical reviews to ensure holistic and coordinated care delivery, adherence to clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Offer expert psychiatric advice, consultation, and support to colleagues, including junior medical staff, nursing teams, and allied health professionals, fostering collaborative working and best practice in patient care.
  • Conduct regular psychiatric reviews, medication management, and therapeutic interventions, utilizing evidence-based approaches and promoting recovery-oriented practice principles.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement projects, audit, research endeavors, and teaching activities within the psychiatric department to enhance clinical practice, service provision, and professional development.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attendance at conferences, seminars, and training programs, to expand clinical knowledge and skills and maintain GMC revalidation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and relevant experience in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Experience working as a Specialty Doctor or equivalent in mental health services, with a focus on adult psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adult patients, including pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with patients and families.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care, promoting recovery-oriented practice, and ensuring adherence to clinical governance and regulatory standards.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to relocate if necessary.
