Description

We are seeking a Specialty Doctor in Medicine for Older People to join our dynamic department IN Dorset.  This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the advancement of our services, particularly in acute frailty management, with a focus on patients admitted with hip fractures and acute surgical problems.

With a salary range of £52,530 – £82,400 pro rata per annum, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on acute frailty management and rotate through all our services, including community-based care. Requirements:

  • GMC Registration with a license to practice
  • Desirable qualifications include MRCP or an overseas equivalent
  • At least 2 years of post-Foundation experience, with a minimum of 6 months in Geriatric Medicine

Your current skills should include the ability to work clinically without direct consultant supervision and evidence of leadership skills to guide junior team members. Experience in multidisciplinary team working and basic service change/development is also desirable. Understanding of clinical governance principles and involvement in audit activities is important. Teaching experience and effective communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to present effectively to an audience.
