Job Overview: Pulse, a leading healthcare recruitment agency, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in General Adult Psychiatry for a permanent position within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to join a dynamic and supportive team while contributing to the mental well-being of the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Expertise: Provide high-quality clinical care and psychiatric assessment to adult patients within the Community Mental Health Team.
  2. Treatment Planning: Develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to provide integrated and holistic care.
  4. Consultation and Liaison: Collaborate with external stakeholders such as primary care providers, social services, and voluntary organizations to enhance patient care and support services.
  5. Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, contributing to their professional development.
  6. Audit and Research: Participate in clinical audits and research activities to contribute to the continuous improvement of services and patient care.
  7. Training and Education: Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Specialist accreditation in General Adult Psychiatry.
  3. Relevant experience working in Community Mental Health settings.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
