We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in General Adult Psychiatry to join a dynamic Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the mental health and well-being of the local community.

Job Description:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Community Mental Health Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults with mental health issues. The role involves a combination of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adult patients within the CMHT.
  2. Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of mental health disorders.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement care plans.
  4. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the development of service protocols.
  5. Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant clinical governance and quality assurance standards.

Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  2. Completion of specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry.
  3. CCT or equivalent in General Adult Psychiatry.
  4. Relevant experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community mental health setting.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
