Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant specializing in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) with experience in Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Inpatient settings. This exciting opportunity is based in Colchester, Essex, providing a chance to make a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of individuals within the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Expertise: Provide expert clinical leadership and consultation in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, including Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient settings.

  2. Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals within the CAMHS-PICU-Inpatient spectrum, ensuring the provision of comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment.

  3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.

  4. Clinical Governance: Adhere to and promote the highest standards of clinical governance, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  5. Teaching and Training: Contribute to the education and training of junior staff, promoting continuous professional development within the team.

  6. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing service development and enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • AC/ Section 12 Essential 
  • Specialist registration in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Extensive experience in CAMHS, PICU, and Inpatient settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
