Pulse, a leading recruitment agency specializing in healthcare, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a dynamic CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) team in an inpatient setting in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to make a significant impact in the field of mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Leadership: Provide expert psychiatric care and leadership within the CAMHS inpatient setting, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

  2. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop personalized treatment plans for young individuals with a range of mental health conditions.

  3. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective and evidence-based treatment interventions for patients.

  4. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for the well-being and rights of young patients, ensuring their needs are met within a safe and therapeutic environment.

  5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, and therapists, to deliver integrated care and achieve positive outcomes for patients.

  6. Research and Development: Stay abreast of current research, guidelines, and best practices in psychiatry and contribute to the continuous improvement of services through innovation and quality improvement initiatives.

  7. Teaching and Training: Provide supervision and education to junior medical staff, contributing to the ongoing professional development of the team.

Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Specialist training in Psychiatry with CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent.
  3. Substantial experience working in CAMHS, particularly in an inpatient setting.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
