Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to play a key role in our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert psychiatric care for older adults, contributing to the development and implementation of high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate accurate diagnoses for older adults experiencing mental health challenges.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and ensuring a holistic approach to care.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
  4. Contribute to the development and evaluation of mental health programs and services for the older adult population.
  5. Offer consultation and support to family members, caregivers, and other stakeholders involved in the care of older adults.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Medical degree with specialization in Psychiatry and current registration with the relevant professional body.
  2. Consultant-level experience in Old Age Psychiatry, demonstrating a strong track record in the field.
  3. Proven ability to conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to older adults.
  4. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in Old Age Psychiatry.
