Description

Embark on a thrilling career journey with Pulse Healthcare in the West Midlands of England, located east of the border of Wales. We are actively seeking a dedicated Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our team in a full-time permanent role, where your contributions will be highly esteemed.

This position will enhance the delivery of Consultant-led Emergency Care for patients visiting the Emergency Department. While it is desirable for candidates to have a special interest in Paediatric Emergency care, Frailty Emergency care, or other sub-specialties, it is not essential. This role presents a unique opportunity for candidates to actively contribute to the ongoing development of the service. The adoption of flexible working patterns is considered essential for the department to provide an optimal emergency service that can adapt to the evolving needs of the NHS.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Participation in clinical meetings and post-graduate activities in the Trust
  • Supervision, teaching and training of junior medical staff, nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, nursing and other staff in and out of the department. This will include training of students attached to the department
  • Contribute to postgraduate and continuing education locally and nationally
  • Assisting in the provision of managerial and administrative services to the ED
  • Delivery of duties in the Major Incident plan and contribution to further updating of this in conjunction with the Major Incident Planning Group 

ED Consultants will also play a leading role in Developing and maintaining appropriate systems and practice to ensure effective clinical audit in Emergency Medicine & Support Quality Improvement Projects and the introduction of new technology/advances in clinical practice.

Essential Requirements for the role include:

  • Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice
  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine via: CCT, CESR, CCT or CESR proposed date within six months of interview or European Community Right
  • MBBS or equivalent

  • FRCEM or equivalent
