This role provides a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to the mental well-being of children and adolescents, shaping their futures through expert psychiatric care.

Position Overview: As a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional psychiatric care to children and adolescents with a diverse range of mental health needs. Leading a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to assessments, treatment planning, and interventions tailored to the unique requirements of young minds. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to providing compassionate and effective care to support the mental health and development of children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments for children and adolescents, and formulating individualized treatment plans.
  2. Leading and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality and age-appropriate psychiatric care.
  3. Overseeing and guiding therapeutic interventions, medication management, and crisis interventions for young individuals.
  4. Contributing to the development and implementation of innovative programs to enhance mental health outcomes for children and adolescents.
  5. Engaging with families, schools, and community resources to provide holistic support and continuity of care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Specialist registration in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  3. CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  4. Substantial experience as a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, demonstrating leadership and clinical excellence.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young individuals, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest research and best practices in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
