Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Consultant in Adult Psychiatry with community experience to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults in community settings. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to improving the mental health outcomes of individuals while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and provide evidence-based treatment to adult patients in community settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in consultation with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and holistic care delivery.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior medical staff, including psychiatrists in training.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management.
  • Engage in regular liaison with primary care providers, social services, and other community agencies to facilitate seamless transitions of care.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Specialist registration in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in adult mental health services, with a focus on community psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
