We are currently seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join out NHS client’s renowned mental health unit in Scunthorpe on a locum basis. As a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to patients with acute mental health needs. This role is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours for an ongoing period.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulating individualized treatment plans for patients admitted to the acute inpatient unit.
- Providing expert psychiatric care and treatment to manage acute symptoms, stabilize patients, and facilitate recovery.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Participating in ward rounds, case conferences, and clinical meetings to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and formulate discharge plans.
- Providing leadership, supervision, and support to junior medical staff, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- Full GMC registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Section 12 approval.
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in acute inpatient psychiatry.
- Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to assess and manage complex mental health presentations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
