Position Overview: As a Band 8B Psychologist specializing in Psychiatric Liaison, you will play a pivotal role in providing psychological support and expertise within a liaison psychiatry service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to contribute to the mental health and well-being of individuals in the Bedfordshire region. This role is for a duration of 6 months and to start in April 2024.
Key Responsibilities:

Psychiatric Liaison Services: Provide high-level psychological expertise and support within a liaison psychiatry service, working collaboratively with medical and multidisciplinary teams.

Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and contribute to the diagnostic process for individuals presenting with mental health concerns in a liaison setting.

Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring the provision of effective and timely psychological support.

Consultation and Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure cohesive and integrated care for patients in liaison psychiatry.

Supervision and Training: Provide supervision and training to junior staff, ensuring the development and maintenance of high-quality psychological services.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Significant experience working in psychiatric liaison or similar settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in providing psychological interventions for a range of mental health conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
