Job Description: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Band 8b/8c Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological assessments, therapy, and interventions to individuals across various settings. This role will involve a range of responsibilities, including profiling, report writing, risk assessments, staff meetings, and court attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders.
  • Write detailed and insightful psychological reports, incorporating assessment findings, treatment recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate potential harm to self or others, ensuring the safety of clients and the community.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend staff meetings to discuss cases, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Provide expert witness testimony and attend court hearings as required, presenting psychological findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant post-qualification experience as a Clinical Psychologist, preferably at Band 8b/8c level.
  • Proven experience in conducting psychological assessments, therapy, and risk assessments across diverse populations and settings.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex psychological concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in attending court hearings and providing expert witness testimony is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.
