Pulse is currently seeking a band 8a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in CAMHS Eating Disorders, to join our client’s well-established NHS trust within Rotherham.
This post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full time hours per week for an initial 6-month period.
You will need to be skilled at working with young people (8-18 years) and adults (18-25 years) with eating disorders and complex co-morbid presentations e.g. ASC, complex trauma, EUPD, depression, OCD and self-harm.
We can offer the opportunity for innovation and room to develop your areas of clinical interest in eating disorders and/or the associated co-morbidities. The full/part time post will be appointed to according to experience and as such applications will be welcomed from both psychologists who are well established in their career, as well as more recently qualified psychologists who would like to develop expertise within this specialist field of eating disorders and associated co-morbidities.
It is essential that all applying candidates have previous experience of working within a CAMHS Eating Disorders setting to be considered for the role. Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Main Duties of the job:
The post is integral in supporting and developing psychological perspectives across the MDT as well as in providing assessments and therapy to patients and their families.
Specialist psychological interventions (in individual, family, and group settings) and therapeutic relationships play an important role in supporting vulnerable young people to overcome their eating disorder and prepare for life outside of hospital.
The post will be supervised by a consultant or senior clinical psychologist and you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, other psychologists, assistant psychologists and therapeutic support workers (i.e. with psychology undergraduate degrees) on the unit and as part of the psychological services team who work closely across the four Ellern Mede hospital sites.
The role will include links with local Doctoral Programmes in Clinical and Counselling Psychology, with opportunities for research and clinical trainee placements. Every clinician has a generous annual CPD budget and where needed specialist external supervision can be bought in.
