Job Title: Band 8a Clinical Psychologist – Adult Crisis Intervention Specialist

Position Overview: We are in search of a compassionate and highly skilled Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to fill a crucial role in our team as an Adult Crisis Intervention Specialist. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing timely and effective psychological support to adults facing acute mental health crises.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct rapid psychological assessments for individuals in crisis, ensuring a thorough understanding of their mental health needs.
  2. Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies and short-term therapeutic interventions to stabilize individuals in acute distress.
  3. Collaborate closely with emergency services, psychiatric teams, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive crisis care.
  4. Provide consultation and support to family members, caregivers, and other stakeholders involved in the crisis intervention process.
  5. Participate in crisis response teams and contribute to the development and implementation of crisis management protocols.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of crisis interventions, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology and current registration with the relevant professional body. (HCPC)
  2. Extensive experience as a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist with a focus on Adult Crisis Intervention.
  3. Proven ability to conduct rapid and effective psychological assessments in high-pressure situations.
  4. Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to formulate and implement evidence-based crisis management plans.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Continued professional development and a commitment to staying informed about advancements in crisis intervention and emergency mental health care.
