Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist with expertise in neurorehabilitation to join our esteemed team in Leatherhead. In this role, you will play a key role in providing specialized occupational therapy services to individuals with neurological conditions, focusing on promoting recovery, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with neurological conditions to identify functional deficits, goals, and barriers to recovery.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice guidelines, and patient-centered goals.
  • Provide specialized neurorehabilitation interventions to address cognitive, motor, sensory, and psychosocial impairments, utilizing a holistic and client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, neuropsychologists, and rehabilitation nurses, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for patients.
  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes and promote long-term functional independence.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for managing neurological symptoms, maximizing independence, and facilitating community reintegration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant experience working as an Occupational Therapist in neurorehabilitation settings, with a focus on neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and neurodegenerative disorders.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in neurorehabilitation assessment, treatment, and intervention techniques.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with the ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and engage patients and their families in the rehabilitation process.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care and promoting best practices in neurorehabilitation.
