About the Role: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our team and work within an inpatient mental health setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing occupational therapy interventions to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and contribute to their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to promote independence and improve functional abilities.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients in activities of daily living, social integration, and vocational pursuits.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist within a mental health or psychiatric setting.
  • Strong assessment, therapeutic intervention, and care planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to upholding professional standards and adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the healthcare environment.
