We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 CAMHS SPA Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic team in [Specify Location]. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to make a meaningful impact in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The role is available to start as soon as possible, and the appointed candidate will need to work full-time hours per week for an initial 3-month period.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people referred to the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) service.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and their families, ensuring a person-centered and collaborative approach.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals, to develop and implement care plans.
  • Offer consultation, advice, and support to colleagues and external agencies involved in the care of children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training programs for staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes and reports.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Mental Health Professional with relevant registration (e.g., HCPC, NMC, BABCP).
  • Substantial experience working in CAMHS or a similar mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities for children and young people.
  • Strong assessment and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with external agencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
