We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7/8A Clinical Psychologist specializing in Older Adults to join a dynamic team in Lancashire.

Position Overview:
As a Band 7/8A Clinical Psychologist specializing in Older Adults, you will play a key role in providing high-quality psychological assessments and interventions for older individuals, promoting mental health and well-being. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of mental health services in Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Psychological Assessments: Conduct thorough psychological assessments for older adults, considering the unique needs and challenges associated with this demographic.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the specific needs of older individuals, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and other mental health concerns.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
  • Individual and Group Therapy: Provide individual and group therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse needs of older adults.
  • Family and Carer Support: Offer support and psychoeducation to families and caregivers, promoting a collaborative approach to care.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent).
HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
Extensive experience working as a Clinical Psychologist, with a focus on Older Adults.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the older population.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
