Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in acute care?

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client’s acute care team based in Ilford, Essex. This vacancy is available for the successful therapist to start as soon as possible, offering full time hours per week for an ongoing period. As this is a band 6 position, our client will also welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists as well as experienced candidates.   

The appointed Occupational Therapist will be required to complete 1:1s and Group OT Assessment’s and Intervention on an Inpatient Acute Mental Health Ward. You will also need to ensure that you are proving a high quality, clinically effective and cost-effective service to all patients within the service. The applying therapist requires post-graduation experience working in an acute mental health setting to be considered for this role.

Skills and experience needed:

  • Previous experience within acute settings
  • Previous discharge planning and Oncology experience
  • Relevant degree/qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration

Duties will include:

  • Care-coordinating
  • Attending MDT meetings
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
  • Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
  • Working with other healthcare professionals
