Are you an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist with expertise in hand therapy? Pulse Mental Health, a leading recruitment agency specializing in mental health services, is seeking a dedicated Band 6 Occupational Hand Therapist to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview: As a Band 6 Occupational Hand Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized occupational therapy services to individuals with hand and upper extremity injuries or conditions. You will utilize your expertise in hand therapy to assess, treat, and rehabilitate patients, enabling them to regain function and independence in their daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with hand and upper extremity injuries or conditions, including fractures, tendon injuries, and repetitive strain injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, splinting, and modalities, to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve range of motion and strength.
  • Educate patients on self-management strategies, ergonomic principles, and injury prevention techniques to support long-term recovery and prevent re-injury.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum of [insert years] years of clinical experience as an Occupational Hand Therapist, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Certification or advanced training in hand therapy (e.g., Certified Hand Therapist) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation principles related to hand and upper extremity conditions.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
