Job Title: Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Neurological Rehabilitation

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist with expertise in neurological rehabilitation to join our team in London. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals who have experienced neurological injuries or conditions, providing specialized occupational therapy interventions to support their recovery and maximize their independence. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills and expertise to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals’ functional abilities and needs following neurological injuries or conditions, utilizing a client-centered approach.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on clients’ goals and objectives, focusing on enhancing their functional independence and quality of life.
  • Providing specialized therapeutic interventions to address a range of challenges, including mobility limitations, cognitive impairments, and sensory deficits.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including neurologists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and integrated care delivery.
  • Supporting clients in engaging in meaningful activities and promoting their participation in rehabilitation programs.
  • Providing education and support to clients and their families/caregivers on strategies for managing neurological conditions and optimizing recovery.
  • Monitoring clients’ progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of two years of post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions within neurological rehabilitation settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting recovery-oriented practices.
  • Knowledge of neurological conditions and rehabilitation approaches, including neuroplasticity principles and motor learning theories.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients and the organization.
