Why work in Medina?

Situated in the Hejaz region of western Saudi Arabia, Medina is the second holiest city in Islam. Medina is a Muslim only city, which means non-Muslims won’t be able to live or work here. The long form of the Arabic name for Medina (Madinat Rasul Allah) means “City of the Prophet of Allah.” It was to Medina city that Muhammad fled when he was initially driven out of Mecca, and it’s the place where he attracted his first followers. Medina currently has a population of about 600,000 people and is the home of “The Prophet’s Mosque.”

Working in the Middle East has many advantages, allowing you to immerse yourself in a new culture, enjoy glorious sunshine and perhaps even learn a new language, all while furthering your career. Given that the accommodation is paid for, and that rates of pay are excellent, many Muslim expats choose to work in Medina for a period of time to save money and return home having done exactly that. Being located in the Middle East also means many holiday destinations in Africa, India, Australia and South East Asia are a short distance away so you can see the world while working abroad. The official language is Arabic but English is widely understood and always used by Pulse staff in their place of work.
