Position: Theatre Practitioner / ODP

Salary: £26,000-£34,000 dependant on experience
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 Hrs. Permanent Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients with over 30 years experience in the private healthcare sector. They have many hospitals situated around the UK with high level of staff making sure their patients get the very best care. They are in a position to welcome a Theatre Practitioner/ ODP into their Blackpool team to increase the strength of their talented team further. My client prefers for their theatre staff to be as multi skilled as possible, ideally they would like to meet with people who are able to work across scrub, anaesthetics and/or recovery but would not dismiss candidates who only have experience in one.

Reports to:  Theatre Manager

Responsibilities -
You will provide exemplary care for patients before, during and after their surgery by supporting the management and organisation of care in the operating theatre while providing hands-on clinical assistance. You’ll support the Theatre Manager to maximise the use of theatres and promote the development of a learning culture within the team and the hospital. From setting up perioperative equipment for routine and emergency surgical equipment to using the camera during Minimal Access Surgery (MAS) and embedding new practice developments into the team, you’ll be fully involved in patient care.
 
A role model for other team members, you’ll be a qualified operating departmental practitioner with an advanced scrub practitioner qualification in perioperative practice. Confident challenging consultants to enhance practice, you’ll bring considerable experience of working as an advanced perioperative practitioner in and across surgical teams. A comprehensive understanding of health and safety and infection control requirements will be essential, but most important of all will be your passion for caring.

Qualifications and Training -
• Registered Nurse/Perioperative Theatre Practitioner
• Working towards post registration qualification in perioperative practice (nurse)
• Working towards post registration qualification in clinical specialism (ODP)
• Working in teams and with minimum supervision
• Experience in a caring role
• Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient
               Case mixes.

This vacancy is for full-time 37.5 hours per week.
