e Role:

Our client is looking to recruit a full-time skilled and motivated Theatre Practitioner who is experienced in Anaesthetics and Recovery to join their motivated surgical nursing team. They can offer our Nurses the opportunity to work in a challenging role in a supportive working environment dealing with a full range of surgeries, from minor procedures to major operations.

As a Theatre Practitioner you will get the opportunity to work with some of the region’s best consultants so you will be open to innovative evidence-based clinical techniques. 

 

Working hours:   
This is a full time or part-time Theatre Nurse/ODP position.

 

Role Purpose & Core Responsibilities:

  • To provide quality planned care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care
  • To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department
  • Contribute to quality improvement
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
  • Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice
  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
  • The ability to coordinate the use of the supplies and equipment during the operating list and during the immediate post-operative phase of care ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.
  • Conduct mandatory patient checks including informed consent, patient’s identity and operative site against the supporting documentation, prior to the start of the anaesthetic and prior to the start of the procedure.

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration
  • Approved/recognised anaesthetic course.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • ILS
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competent across a range of skills
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course and/or D32/33/A1
  • ALS
