A new opportunity has arisen for a carer looking for on going work in Kensington. Our client is very intelligent and sociable, and has an incredible spirit despite a bad run of health in recent years.
Prior to a prolonged hospital stay several years ago, our client was a very successful, independent businesswoman. While she is slowly regaining her independence, we are looking for carers who would be able to assist her with getting to appointments, keeping on top of her medications and prompting her to take them, light household duties, shopping, and companionship.
Our client enjoys international foods, reading (especially the Economist), and listening to Magic radio station. She loves keeping up to date with current affairs, and interacting and chatting with her carers. Start dates are flexible, but you must be willing to commit to on going work. Full medication training will be provided.
The current care package is made up of four hour shifts; one in the morning 0900-1300 and one in the evening 1700-2100, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week.
Care of clients in their own home and/or in a hospital.
Willing to commit to on going adhoc work.
Experience with taking blood pressure and temperature readings.
Proactive, strong but caring attitude.
Encouraging and engaging companionship
Studying towards a nursing qualification.
Experience working with patients with renal issues.
Experience in rehabilitation, and understanding of the challenges involved.
