Salary –Up to £34,000- DOE
Hours – Full Time – 37.5 Hrs 


Job Summary: 
My clients Hospital is looking to recruit an exceptional Deputy Theatre Manager to assist the Theatre Manager in the daily organisation of theatre, deputise in her absence and retain some clinical input.

You could be a Senior ODP/Theatre Practitioner or a highly experience Senior Theatre Nurse looking for your next step up to further your career, or an established Deputy Theatre Manager looking for new exciting opportunity with a highly reputable private healthcare provider.

My clients Hospital offers major and day case surgery in the following areas: General, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Plastics, Spinal and Urology. This fast-paced department has three theatres and an Endoscopy unit. All areas are fully utilised from Monday to Saturday based on 3 session days.

Deputy Theatre Manager Role Purpose:

Regularly coordinate the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department while assisting the Theatre Manager in the management of the theatre team
Provide quality planned care for patients during their peri operative phase of care by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership throughout the department.
Deputise for the Theatre Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

The role of Deputy Theatre Manager will require the right candidate to:
Assist in the delivery of patient care within own clinical expertise - whether this is  Anaesthetics, Recovery or Scrub.
Contribute to quality improvement
Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice
Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly
Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs
Participate in HR activities
Assist in the enhancement, development, introduction of services and initiatives.

Knowledge/ Skills and Qualifications: 
ODP registered with HCPC or a registered nurse (RGN) with an NMC Pin number.
Significant, proven experience in a Senior Theatre role.
Post-registration qualifications, including mentorship, and additional experience are desirable as we work with student nurses.
Experience of Clinical Governance and enforcing requirements
An appreciation of the need to balance the provision of quality care while maintaining a business focus
Previous experience as a Senior Registered Practitioner or equivalent.
Management qualification (desirable)
