Role Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients. Working under the supervision of consultants, you will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with mental health disorders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and contribute to the formulation of treatment plans.
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients with a range of mental health conditions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment interventions as necessary.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior medical staff and trainees.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • MBBS degree or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in Psychiatry, preferably in an adult mental health setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and promoting recovery.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases.
