Senior Theatre Practitioner (Band 6) – Scrub/ Anaesthetics/ Recovery
Permanent, Full time
Grade: Band 6
Salary: £41,544 – £50,030 BAR £51,647 – £56,090 per annum
Location: Guernsey
Pulse is working with the Channel Islands largest provider of health care. Our client is looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their operating room team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, implementing and upholding the established standards of care, and providing professional clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating room team.
Senior Practitioners are expected to participate in elective and emergency operating sessions, to fill for Team leaders/ Coordinator with the running of speciality sessions. Post holder will be expected to work 1 in 4 or 4 weekends and call once per week.

Requirements
- NMC registered nurse
- 2 years theatre experience
- Completed Core competencies at Band 5 level
- If anaesthetic role, anaesthetic core competencies
- If recovery role, recovery core competencies
- If scrub role, scrub competencies and full team rotation completed
- Teaching and mentorship experience
- A1 or NVQ 31/33
Roles and responsibilities
- Evaluate surgical resources required for patients who require complex care needs, such as those with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions
- Help with learning, development and assessment of unregistered/ junior staff and learners
- Apply theories and principles of agreed nursing model
- Act as a clinical supervisor and preceptor develop skills of first and second level nurse and nursing auxiliaries
