Senior Scrub Nurse/ODP – Orthopaedics

Location: Chelmsford, Essex, UK

Salary: Band 5 (annual) depending on experience

** Welcome Bonus and Relocation Allowance Available!

Role: Permanent, Full-time position

 

Do you have previous Theatre Scrub Experience and are keen to learn Orthopaedics?

 

Pulse is delighted to be working alongside a well-renowned private healthcare group to recruit a new Senior Scrub Nurse to join their Orthopaedics department!

 

The impressive hospital has 64 registered beds all with ensuite facilities and parent and child rooms, a 14-bed day unit as well as a high dependency unit. They focus on a range of services and specialties including surgery, medicine, oncology, plastic, cosmetic surgery and paediatrics.

 

While working within a fantastic multidisciplinary team, you will need to be able to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high standards of peri-operative patient care. You will be required to perform the scrub role in consultant led surgeries that can vary in complexity!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out scrub duties according to policies and procedures
  • Develop and deliver best evidenced based practice
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team supporting colleagues, consultants and other professionals
  • Assemble, check, prepare and coordinate the use of surgical equipment, drugs and consumables for the operative procedures
  • To provide clinical leadership and support colleagues to plan, monitor and evaluate skilled and appropriate care for patients undergoing different forms of surgery to ensure the provision of evidence-based care
  • Support, develop and observe colleagues – these can be student nurses and junior staff
  • Ensure all NMC/codes of conduct are followed

 

We are looking for you to be:

  • NMC/HCPC Registered
  • Previous experience in orthopaedics is advantageous – but not essential!
