Description

Our client is currently seeking a compassionate Band 5 Physiotherapist to welcome into their Respiratory/Surgical/Vascular team at an NHS trust located in London. The successful therapist can start this role as soon as possible, working full-time hours each week for an initial 3-month period. 

Physiotherapist applying should have good experience and knowledge in Respiratory, Surgical, and Vascular. You will need skills in complex PT assessments and intervention and discharge planning to be considered for this role. The post holder will be pivotal in helping patients regain their independence and enhance their quality of life. Your expertise will be instrumental in the comprehensive care and recovery of patients in these specialised units.  Candidate should have assess and treat using appropriate chest clearance therapy interventions for patients with secretion overload i.e. Bronchiectasis, COPD, Learning disability and neuromuscular conditions; to carry out domiciliary visits for house bound patients to provide home based pulmonary rehabilitation and chest clearance therapy interventions as appropriate ; to record and maintain accurate documentations as per HCPC standards of record keeping. Experience in running pulmonary rehabilitation classes and managing patients with long term respiratory conditions; delivering patient education talks; provide chest clearance therapy interventions 

Duties within the role will include:  

  • Functional and cognitive assessments  
  • Implementing appropriate intervention 
  • Discharge planning  
  • Referral of patients for further rehabilitation  
  • Demonstrating safe use and fitting of equipment  
  • Helping patients with lifestyle management  

To be considered for this role, you must:  

  • Hold the relevant degree/qualification within Physiotherapist
  • Have previous experience in a similar role (within a respiratory setting) 
  • Be HCPC registered 
  • Have good communication skills 
  • Be able to build trust and rapport with patients 
  • Be encouraging and build confidence in others
