Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in General Adult Psychiatry for an Inpatient position in Durham. The successful candidate will join a dynamic healthcare team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adult patients within the inpatient setting.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Provide expert psychiatric consultation to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and clinical meetings to ensure effective communication and collaborative care.
  5. Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical services through participation in audit, research, and service development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Specialist registration in General Adult Psychiatry.
  3. CCT or equivalent in General Adult Psychiatry.
  4. Proven experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in an inpatient setting.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
