Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our team in Brighton. The Consultant will play a key role in providing expert psychiatric care to adults, contributing to the enhancement of mental health services in the Brighton area, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations of adult patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Provide specialized psychiatric treatment and medication management for individuals with a diverse range of mental health disorders.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate care and facilitate integrated treatment approaches.
  • Lead and participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and optimize outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and innovations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of psychiatric care in the Brighton community.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of specialist training in Psychiatry and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in providing psychiatric care to adult patients.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field of psychiatry.
