Role Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to children and adolescents experiencing mental health difficulties, supporting their development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents’ occupational performance, sensory processing, and developmental skills to inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including play-based therapy, sensory integration therapy, and cognitive-behavioral interventions, to address clients’ mental health needs and promote participation in meaningful activities.
  • Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, psychologists, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and workshops focusing on areas such as social skills development, emotional regulation, and self-care routines.
  • Offer education and support to families and caregivers on strategies to promote their child’s development, independence, and well-being in home, school, and community settings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Substantial experience working as an Occupational Therapist in pediatric mental health or a related setting, preferably at a Band 7 level.
  • Specialized knowledge and expertise in pediatric occupational therapy, including developmental assessments, sensory integration, and play-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to delivering family-centered, evidence-based care and promoting the well-being and development of children and adolescents.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of working with pediatric clients and their families.
