About the Role: Pulse Mental Health is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of individuals across various mental health settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community-based programs. As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering holistic occupational therapy interventions to support clients in achieving their goals and maximizing their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning to determine their occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, in collaboration with clients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing clients’ functional abilities and promoting meaningful engagement in daily activities.
  • Provide support and education to clients and their caregivers on strategies for managing activities of daily living, coping with challenges, and achieving therapeutic goals.
  • Monitor clients’ progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a mental health or psychiatric setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to upholding professional standards, ethical principles, and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client needs.
