Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist with inpatient experience to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals receiving inpatient mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ functional abilities, occupational performance, and needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patients’ specific goals and needs.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to enhance patients’ independence, functional skills, and overall well-being.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for managing daily activities and promoting recovery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant experience working as an Occupational Therapist within inpatient mental health settings.
- Proven ability to assess and treat a diverse range of mental health conditions and functional impairments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting recovery-oriented practices.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound clinical judgments within a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
